MOUNDSVILLE FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL 543 WELCOMES YOU
Moundsville Firefighters Local 543 has been a part of the City of Moundsville since December 21,1937. At that time, there were 23 members and worked 24 hour shifts. Currently we have 4 active members and serve our community Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Everything we do we do for our citizens. Throughout the year we have numerous fundraisers for our “Keep Kids Safe” program which has turned out to be our biggest achievement. Our “Keep Kids Safe” program purchases items such as Puddle Jumpers, smoke detectors, and bicycle helmets to give out to the children in the community. We also participate in the MDA Fill the Boot.

FIREFIGHTERS’ CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR TESTINGThe City of Moundsville Firefighters Civil Service Commission will be conducting an examination for the position of Probationary Firefighter.Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years of age. Starting wage is $35,256 and includes a generous benefit package after a 90-day probationary period. Benefits include: paid health insurance, sick days, holidays, life insurance, vacation and pension plan.Application forms and exam information will be available at the Moundsville City Building at the Office of the City Clerk, 800 Sixth Street, Moundsville, WV 26041 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. (304) 845-3394. Applications must be completed and returned to the Clerk’s Office by May 5th at 4:00 P.M. No applications will be accepted after this time.
